Gauge: 5 sts = 1 inch Made lengthwise, this pattern offers three different designs from which to choose, all with a center "scrunch" area to help fit around the neck. The top scarf is a simple lace pattern, the center scarf is a yarnover pattern used to make enlarged stitches, and the bottom scarf is a simple block pattern using knits and purls. The finished size of the scarves can be adjusted by blocking, but they are generally about 5 - 6 inches wide and 48 inches long. Shown to the left in our fingering weight 100% wool yarn, each scarf takes 1 skein (or a minimum of 300 yards) of yarn. Blackberry Ridge Fingering Weight Yarns can be found here. Due to the simple repeats in the pattern, these can be made in other weights of yarn or made smaller or larger without major changes in the pattern. |
